Old or antique safes often hide family secrets or a story worth telling. Today we decided to share one such story.
The German daily Bild recently reported that, while cleaning the old headquarters of the local football federation DFB, a real 'chamber of secrets' was discovered. Four safes of unknown origin, locked with an unknown code, were found in two rooms that nobody knew existed. Two of the safes that were successfully opened contained memorabilia of Sepp Herberger, former selector of the German national team, who died 1977. Two other safes remain a mystery, and the federation authorities have put out a tender to open them. Solid German work! đ
