Under a painting, in a cupboard, behind a curtain? These are the most popular places to hide a safe. But where can you put the safe so that just finding it is a mystery?
Prudence pays off
Safes are usually hidden in two rooms - a bedroom or a study. Therefore, every other room (kitchen, bathroom, basement) is already a slightly less obvious place for a potential thief and one to which he will go later – after unsuccessfully searching the most obvious places to hide a safe. And such a few minutes is already a lot – because maybe you will return to the flat, or the thief will be frightened by the sound of a neighbour's car in the driveway. In unusual places – the bathroom, kitchen or children's room – you can hide the safe in a typical place (wardrobe, painting) or in a slightly more thoughtful one. Some of our suggestions many burglars would never come up with! Here are 7 unusual places to put a safe:
1. Under a bed
This is where we usually keep our slippers or an old newspaper. And there is also a safe that can easily be attached to the structure of a building (e.g. as a floor safe). The only disadvantage is that access is somewhat difficult.
2. In a sock drawer
As well as in the wardrobe, the safe can also be hidden in the drawer of a large chest of drawers. The idea is almost as simple as with a wardrobe, but at the same time a little less obvious. Especially if you actually surround the safe with socks.
3. In the bath tub enclosure
Would it occur to anyone to look for storage space under the bathtub? After all, that's where you keep your chemicals at most. And that's why it's the perfect place for a small safe.
4. Under the stairs
If you have a staircase with wooden stairs, a good place to hide a safe is, for example, on one of the steps – both on the side and on the step itself. Such a place should be designed together with the staircase constructor to maintain the safety of the whole structure.

5. In the fridge
A thief rarely looks into a fridge, so with a small box that you do not want to mount to the structure of the building, you can afford such an unusual place. You can also secure the box by putting it in a... pizza box.
6. In a hoover
The idea of hiding small valuables is not a big one – no one will look into a hoover bag that looks like it's in good working order. You just have to be careful that the cleaner doesn't inadvertently empty it.
7. In a ventilation grille
A very convenient place to attach a small safe to the building structure. You don't have to use a real grille at all – just create one that imitates it.
