Securities can come in different forms. For documents there are metal cabinets with higher fire resistance and fireproof safes, while cash or valuables are better kept in safes with higher burglar-proof classes. In our store you can find cash-boxes for a wide variety of purposes, which provide a high level of protection and have competitive prices, and the products available through the online shop are divided into convenient categories. But what if the customer needs a more personalized product? Nothing simpler, as long as we have the time necessary to produce a safe that meets all expectations, if we just don't have one on hand. How a customized safe is made – you can find out by reading this article.
Step 1 – choosing a security class
Fundamental to choosing the right safe is to define your needs. For example, if you need a safe for documents, but such, let's say, everyday documents: invoices, bills, documentation that your company generates, possibly private things, but in case of emergency easy to reconstruct, then a sufficient group of products for you will be metal cabinets with increased fire resistance, relatively lightweight, but capacious. Fireproof safes are a wide category of models of various sizes and grades, you will easily find something suitable.
On the other hand, you may need a safe which is not necessarily large, but with a very high burglar-proof class, in which you will keep small but very precious items, such as valuables, jewelry, cash or securities. In this case, you need to look among models that have multi-walled constructions of both the body and the door, multilateral locking, considerable weight and, of course, a high level of protection defined by the security class.
Or maybe you are looking for a safe for storing weapons and ammunition? Go ahead, there is plenty of it. In our online store there are safes for long guns, for small arms, ammunition and such for everything at once, but increasingly there are requests for long gun safes that need to be made to special order.
The categories of safes are firmly conventional, and you will find, for example, a large, two-door safe in high class II according to EN 1143-1, while providing 120-minute fire resistance, in our offer.
Step 2 – dimensions
A majority of the most popular series of safes have a wide range of standard dimensions. For example, one such line of fireproof safes, D 107, has a base of almost 30 models – from a compact, 38 cm high one to a large and heavy two-door cabinet.
You must confront the external dimension of the safe with the space available at the place where the safe is to be installed. Installation as such will be discussed a little later. The larger the dimensions of the device, the greater its weight will be. More important, however, is what dimension the safe will have inside.
Let's share our experience here. Most often customers ask for safes that are small, even as small as possible. Meanwhile, and this is quite a significant percentage of our customers, after 2-3 years they return for another safe, this time a larger one. Why is that?
If someone has not had a safe at all up to now, they have kept any valuables or important documents in different places where they live. Cash was here, valuables there, documents somewhere else. But when a safe appears in the house, everything of value quickly lands inside, and this is rightly so. Suddenly it turns out that, although the safe keeps the most valuable things secure, the free space in the safe quickly runs out.
We do not encourage to buy safes larger than needed, but when buying a safe, it is worth considering that this will be a device that will stay with you for many years.

Step 3 – the lock
The method of locking the safe does not fundamentally affect the level of security of its contents. The high level of protection is determined by the security class (the higher the class, the more complex the construction of the body, the door and the locking mechanism), but you should know that all the locks we offer are from reputable manufacturers and have the relevant certificates. What are the options?
Key lock
A key lock is standard equipment on every safe. This is the solution which has the greatest and one of the few advantages of the lowest regular price, included in the price of the safe as such. You get two keys as a set, the operation does not need to be explained. However, please note that we do not have digital key templates, so if a key is lost or stolen, the second copy must be sent back to us to be made up. The procedure is lengthy and costly, hence the key lock is chosen by far the least frequently.
Mechanical combination lock
The lock known from the cult films about inter-war cashiers is the mechanical combination lock. There are, of course, modern models on sale that cannot be auscultated with a stethoscope, but the general principle of operation has remained the same for decades and is based on a dial that moves the discs. A mechanical combination lock requires concentration and precision, but it has its share of fans who are not keen on electronics and do not want to bother with details such as a key.
Electronic lock
The undisputed king of lock sales is the electronic lock. Numerous models are offered, which differ from each other in their more or less extensive functionality, but they all have a simple and intuitive method of operation in common. You enter a 6-, sometimes 8-digit PIN on the keypad and the lock opens. The details of how specific models work are a small matter.
Electronic locks operate on battery power, generally with a 9V battery, so they do not require an external power supply.
If the safe is wide enough, an emergency opening key can be used.
Other methods
To end this section – according to current safe certification, it is not possible to make a burglar-proof safe that uses a telephone to open it. At the customer's request, we will install such a cube in safes, but then: firstly, necessarily with an emergency key, and secondly, such a safe will not feature a burglar-proof rating.
You can find out more about this lock in the article: Higher-level security – safes with biometric locks.
Step 4 – standard accessories
Whether metal cabinets, cash-boxes, gun safes or fireproof safes, we have a catalogue of accessories or components that we can install in the safe by default to fully realise the customer's expectations of the product purchased. These include:
• shelves – depending on the size of the safe, there may be several shelves in it, suspended on special ladders on the inside of the safe's walls. Their exact height can be adjusted, usually in 5 cm intervals, or they can be removed completely or more can be added. Sometimes a customer needs more shelves, there is no problem with that.
• drawers – we can install telescopic drawers in the safe. Their height remains to be determined. Similarly, a shelf with file hooks can be fitted on such telescopes. This is already a bit of a relic, but it still finds takers, especially in the public sphere and in companies dealing with accounting.
• internal safe – you can equip the safe with an additional locking box with a separate lock. Internal safes do not provide additional security; rather, they have an ordering function. They are most commonly found in gun safes, where they are used to store ammunition.
• hunting accessories – while we are on the subject of gun safes, there is a whole category of accessories with which a safe can be fitted out. These are, of course, long gun or short gun holders, magnetic, which you can position by yourself in a place that suits you. In addition, we have door-welded extractor holders, ammunition racks, hooks, etc..
Step 5 – delivery and installation
The last element to be determined when purchasing a safe is where and how to install it. According to the guidelines of EN 1143-1, any safe weighing less than 1000 kg should be permanently mounted to a structural element of the building, i.e. a floor or load-bearing wall.
In order to carry out the installation correctly, it must be ensured that:
• It is technically possible to deliver the safe to the specified location. While this should not be a problem for compact safes weighing no more than 300 kg, the transport of heavy and large cash-boxes should already be considered. If, for example, you want to place the safe on a floor with a staircase, the stairs need to be carefully measured and the load-bearing capacity of both the stairs and the ceiling needs to be determined.
• No water, electricity or gas pipework runs through the site. Installation is carried out by bolting the safe to the floor and/or a wall with steel or chemical anchors, which can damage pipes and cables.

Customised safes
For the most discerning customers who not only care about real security, but want a product that combines a high level of protection with a beautiful and unusual look, we have the Signature and Exquisite range of safes. What are these?
These are safes based on models with the highest burglar-proof classes, for securing your most valuable items that you fear being stolen: cash, gold, watches, jewellery or other valuables. The making of such safes involves, in addition to the steps we have already discussed, the visual aspect, which consists of:
• lacquer – as standard, safes are powder-coated. Meanwhile, exclusive models are lacquered not only in any colour, but also in a more demanding texture, from matt to high gloss. Sometimes there are slightly pearlescent lacquers. The choice is yours.
• furniture insert – we make all the elements of the safe's interior, such as shelves, drawers, treasuries or others, from natural veneer and cover them with alcantara, glass, stainless steel or ecological leather.
• watch winders – devices for storing mechanical watches. There are many products in this category, both the so-called box ones, which we arrange in the safe like cubes, and those designed to be built into a larger element, such as a safe. There are many products, sometimes customers themselves indicate a brand and model of watch winder to be used.
- lighting - we illuminate the inside of the safe with an LED strip, either at the top or around the door frame. You can adjust the lighting, there is also a proximity sensor that only lights up when the door is opened.
The process of creating an exclusive safe is long and involved for both us and the customer. The design is created according to individual needs and, as a result, the customer becomes a co-creator of the safe. Our most beautiful works have been created through good and fruitful cooperation.
