Jewellery is extremely attractive to thieves – due to its small size and weight it can be quickly and without much effort taken from the property and then monetized. So the burglar can count on substantial profits. Inadvertently or sometimes through ignorance, we can even make his task easier, especially if we store valuable jewellery, ornaments and watches improperly. A solid, small burglar-proof safe is enough to protect against considerable losses.
A safe for watches and jewellery – which one to choose?
For safe keeping of jewellery and watches a small burglary safe is sufficient. The choice of the appropriate type and model should be dictated by several factors such as: the size and value of the deposit (on which depends the class of the safe), the desired functions and the location of the safe. It should be remembered that the type of building and room determines, among other things, the method of installation and even the type of container.
In the case of flats, small jewellery safes mounted in furniture are recommended. They can be fitted into a wardrobe, dressing table or desk. They come in different grades, versions and sizes, so you can easily choose the right type for your jewellery and watches, and also easily and effectively hide the safe from outsiders. A furniture safe should be no lighter than approx. 100 kg and made on the basis of the standard PN-EN 1143-1. A necessary condition for ensuring an appropriate level of security is also mounting the safe to the structural elements of the building. In this case, the safe provides a high level of security as it cannot be lifted out by a thief. Ideally, in addition to providing burglary protection, furniture safes should also protect the deposits placed in them against fire in accordance with the PN-EN 1047-1 standard. On the other hand, lightweight, small safes that are not permanently attached, e.g. to the structure of furniture or the floor, are not sufficient protection here.
Jewellery safe in a detached house
In houses it is possible to install wall and floor safes, which are built into the wall or floor structure. However, they require special construction, preferably at the stage of building erection or during major renovation. It is more common to use furniture safes or free-standing safes to store jewellery and watches, which can also be used to safely store other valuable items or documents. If the number or size of your valuables is large, you should consider building a modular safe room that is secured with an armoured door and can be accessed like a dressing room. This type of room can also be installed in an existing building. Thanks to the modular construction and the use of modern technology, the safe room does not require any dirty work such as concreting, welding, grinding, etc.
The prestigious jewellery and watch safe
The safe can be configured in any way you like and can be given an individual design to make it a stylish decoration for your room. Prestige safes for valuable watches, ornaments and jewellery can also be equipped with many conveniences, e.g. opening from a smartphone secured in the same way as access to a bank account (based on PKI technology with SHA-2 encryption), biometric identification, automatically sliding drawers or pull-out shelves lined with velvet or alcantara with watch cushions, compartments or ring holders. Safes can also have DC or battery powered watch winders to keep watches (especially mechanical) in good condition. Decorated or glass fronts, as well as interior lighting using LED technology, mean that a jewellery and watch safe can be a decorative interior element, depending on the owner's individual idea and vision. Also on the outside the safe can be covered with e.g. carbon, ecological leather imitating python skin (read more about the "Python" safe).
