It is not uncommon for large-scale companies to use expensive components or materials in production and work that should not be accessible to all employees. In such situations, it is best to invest in a separate, modular safe room.
Prevention is better than loss
Many manufacturing premises can be categorised as high risk for burglary or theft. These include factories and plants, which in the production process use precious metals, expensive components or materials that are stored in open spaces, such as halls. In these situations, a range of security features can be used to restrict access. These should be treated not as a cost, but as an investment in protecting your company's assets and capital. We have already discussed the possibility of using safes, armoured cash registers or key depositories, but today we will take a closer look at safe rooms, which are used both in private properties and in companies.
What is a safe room?
In companies, a safe room provides twofold protection: it limits access to valuable items to a group of selected, authorised persons, e.g. production managers, and prevents theft in the event of an attack. Their construction is simple and requires the separation of an area from an existing space, such as a production hall, where valuable items will be stored. Using special interconnected panels and vault doors, a safe room is created. Its advantage is the modular construction, thanks to which it can be dismantled and moved to another location at any time. At the same time, the safe room is virtually impossible to break into, even with heavy tools such as a jackhammer.
Locks and additional security features
The armoured doors are equipped with an electronic lock with PIN code and two emergency mechanical locks. They can be opened from the inside and from the outside. For additional protection, the doors can be connected to a company alarm system or equipped with a silent alarm function. Many companies also invest in continuous room monitoring and security guards who control authorised access to a special room.
Examples of use in companies
Special safe rooms were installed, among others, in a factory producing car catalytic converters from expensive metals and in a haberdashery plant, where it is necessary to store expensive leather materials. The size and dimensions of such a room always depend on the individual needs of the customer. Often, the space should allow for the insertion of goods on a pallet or the free access of a forklift. This is particularly important for logistics companies that manage expensive customer property. In this case, it is necessary to rely not only on very good work organisation, control of the circulation of documents and keys, but also on intelligent and functional solutions, which ensure the safety and proper protection of assets.
